Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Laid off yesterday. Product management. Blindsided completely.

Without going into too much detail to protect my identity. They laid off quite a few people from marketing organizations because of the restructuring.

Rumor says they want to sell the new spin off to another company. God knows.

Lay off done right after the townhall meeting.

Screw HR. After assuring me that everything would be fine due to my circumstances (no detail to protect self from needless lawsuit) HR stabbed in the back.

Come on folks give this guy a break. No one expects or wants to be laid off, maybe not surprised by it, but certainly did not expect it. We need to stand up to these corporate a_holes and fight back. The real way to do this is with a Union. Some may not agree but if we don’t do something soon all of our jobs will be gone!!! 🇺🇸

Better be somewhere else than continuing at Honeyhell... Blessing in disguise.

Backstab is HR's signature move. HR has some of the snakiest people for a reason because they will lie through their teeth to push the corporate agenda (remember the change to an annual 401k loyalty bonus is good for you).

You'll land on your feet and be better for it. Make sure to come back and post when you find a new gig to reassure the HON serfs that the grass is greener.

@1kry. Just saying. You cannot work for Honeywell and be blindsided by being RIF’d. Unless your head is you know where. Come on.

And yes outsourcing has been around for a long time but prior to Clinton and Bush eras, was limited to 5% of a company’s employees. That restriction was lifted and ever since then companies like Honeywell have taken huge advantage of it- to the massive detriment of the US workforce. It’s sickening and it’s sad. There is no job security in corporate America.

If you have kids, get them back into the trades. Mechanics, plumbers, electricians, etc. There is your job security. Or start your own business.

Outsourcing? The game has been going on for decades nothing new. Did you just crawl from under a rock now?

@RKPDXRl. Blindsided? How can anyone who works for Honeywell ever be blindsided by being RIF’d? Seriously. No one is ever safe.

That being said, I’m sorry and I wish you well. My neck is on the RIF line as well.

I feel like someone has a gun pointed at my head and keeps shooting blanks. One day, probably very soon, it will hit me.

Outsourcing is going to kill America. And Honeywell is part of the firing squad.

Good luck and many blessings going forward.

The Homes spinoff is a disaster in the making. I’m not surprised they may be trying to sell it off. It may not feel like it now, but you are probably lucky to be out of here. All the best to you.

Sorry to hear it. No surprise about HR though; HR is just there as a front to protect corporate with little to no interest in actually helping, or supporting, employees.

Here's to hoping you find something better quickly.
