I was a salaried executive that had their position eliminated. My last day was Jan 31. Received my severance package but have not signed it and sent it back yet. Im involved in the solutions instore process. I have not been terminated on paper yet. I still show as an active employee. I was given all my IYT and PTO days in insite. I am still receiving company email. I put in for my IYT days and the system approved it and even now shows that they are taken. No deposit today though. Eh, was a 50/50 chance. Guessing they cancelled it at payroll. Cant figure out why im not termed though. Guessing it has to do with my solutions claim. Im still an employee but i dont get the perks. Its pretty crappy because unemployment cannot verify the end employment date so i cant certify for funds there either. Way to go Macy's. Screw me even deeper!

As a salaried executive you should have known about their deceitful practices. Macy’s does everything in their power to screw around with people including delay tactics and game playing.
I checked my pto time prior to my last day. It may have populated mid january but it didnt post until february. My sis case was opened before my last day but after the decision was made to not place me into another job. My sis case isnt regarding my job being eliminated it was about the hiring process for new jobs. Jobs were given not based on metrics or performance it was based off who likes who.
everyone's 2018 PTO populated in mid January, before RIF decisions were made. Just a technicality. Doesn't mean you weren't going to lose you job. if you have a SIS case open they may realize it's easier to leave you on the books until a decision is made regarding that case. then if you get termed no harm done. if you are retained and are owed back pay, it's easier to reinstate and go forward. Interesting you have a SIS case just as all this is going down......
They are not crafty enough to have done this on purpose. They probably fired the folks whose job it was to follow up on this and nobody to pick up the slack. Only Macy's could not only run the businees in an incompetent manner but they can't even handle a firing/layoff correctly.
You opened up a claim and it probably not resolved yet. They need time to look into it so you are going to have to wait til it is completely done. I am sure they prob have others claims so s---s you need to wait to file for unemployment probably.
But its ok for a company to "fire" you and not pay you yet not take you off the books so you can collect your unemployment. Employers are to terminate your employment on your last day of service. If this has not been done and you are unable to obtain financial compensation you are entitled to, such as unemployment, then you have a strong legal argument. I honestly do not understand why they are leaving you on the books. There must be a reason.
go the distance with the SIS case.
No because you where told you lost your job. If you are fired your fired. No more pay days. Does not matter if you have a scedule til next christmas. You got canned. Example teacher schedule is made for whole year, if fired in oct, you can not say well i have a classroom to teach til june i want my pay til then. Lol no we just fired you.
Technically, I would think, if I haven't been terminated yet wouldn't I still be employed? I mean, why would insite update my 2018 pto hours if I weren't still on the books? So technically.... I am still employed I'm just not on the payroll. This company is so messed up
Time to get a lawyer, play the waiting game all you want. At the end of the day a lawyer will make things happen and put the stress on any employer to pay up and settle. Last thing any company wants is bad PR and potentially a big lawsuit! Call a LAWYER!
call HR Services at 800-234-6229 and complain.
You were not due your IYT days because you were not employed in fiscal 2018.
If you have a SIS case open that may be why your term hasn't been done yet. Call to get an answer from the company.
