It could be fake news.

HOWEVER

I tried reaching out to my HR rep about something today. And every HR rep in our territory is in a meeting. They usually have thiers at the beginning of the month not the end.

They only have big ones end month when there is a policy change OR something is going to happen.

Can't say anything will come of the meeting but be prepared just in case.

Every rep I have talked to today that's working store (5 in SEM and 4 in NEA) That has monthly meetings that start at 830 have been pushed back to 730. And all are all hands. With people that are normally off on Fridays scheduled for the meeting. So something is up. Good or bad

There is no sales volume in our store what so ever, especially during the week.It gets busy on Saturday s, Sunday's are hit or miss with sales volume and yes there is always someone their with a problem .Regarding "Trade from home" what farcical fantasy world Verizon creates. Their customer base that still goes to the stores want the reps to do everything even after you show them what to do! Many have become far more confrontary and belligerent toward the front line employees, while store management run to the back. I have seen customers become so angry with "set up later" I think trade from home will put many over the edge. Most of our store management team couldn't run a hot dog stand, Verizon should look at some them!

There could be some truth to this. There are a multitude of open reqs here in California that are going unfilled, and the next few new hire training classes are chock-a-block.

This should be removed for blatant trolling. At least make up a plausible scenario!

Bottom 20% for what time period? January? 2017? I have a hard time believing this since we are hiring

Its disgusting that basically unless you’re slamming customers they don’t want you.

Didn’t they start doing this stupid commitment crap because it wasn’t about numbers anymore its about behaviour. Which in itself is stupid as its in itself ignoring the reason why a customer is here when you start spewing scripted language.

My manager just told me that "trade in from home" is rolling out on 2/20...so now Set Up Later is basically complete. That's probably what the webcast is about next week.

They usually wait until you are back, then show you the door. What a loving company!

This doesn’t really make any sense. If it’s the bottom twenty percent of reps, what if one store has a bunch of those reps. Then the store just won’t have anybody working there?

If they do that who's going to help the 70percent no sale customers who come in for customer service, tech support, global support,I can't use the bill payment machine" my Macy's app isn't working, "what's my password for my phone , email etc etc etc, phone content retrieval , unopened fedex boxes ,Verizon has told these people to come to the stores and we do everything like 5 years ago! This with 10 people 3 " I don't do anything " managers in a busy NYM location that's open 10 to 8 everyday! by the way "Set up at home" in our store is not working for the majority of times 1Because Mgmt doesn't want low nPS scores and our customers actually want us to sit with them and look at the phones while it does cloud back up or content app retrieval. Interesting

This rumor has been floated for a while, including last April’s layoff that nuked all experience specialist.

So this was always going to happen and just had been delayed.

Or this board has been slow lately and someone feels like making some drama.

I think you're right they will close underperforming stores, the rumors of the lower 10 percent in the past never materialized.

Most of the lower 20 percent are reps that have given up, these are reps that are still doing the majority of tech support and customer services at their stores while the "slammers" aren't even touching these people, it's just bad luck or whatever "However, would it be the lower 20 percent by region, zone, or location?

Total BS. Salespeople don't get laid off they get FIRED! No need to pay severance.

And they can't reduce headcount without closing locations. So either they are closing stores next week and shuffling heads around the the surviving stores or this is not happening at all.

It would make sense to get rid of the dead weight but that would not work due to staffing in some stores oh i forget they do not care about head count in some locations.

Could be true, how are they determining the bottom 20 percent from last years final numbers? That woul be the only way they could do it.
