An A machinist can be bumped to any job classification they have worked in before .

The pay number is a number assigned to each hourly employee based on hiring date and seniority. Thus, the lower the number, the more seniority one has. Layoffs are based on job classification and seniority. At Greenville anyway.

Just a question from a (former) salaried person who got the axe last year in Schenectady, what exactly are these "pay numbers" everyone is talking about ? I haven't heard that term before, and I can't conjure up a guess as to what it might be. Thought I would ask and get a straight answer from somebody who knows.

Imagine the following verses read by Flannery:

Don't make me wreck s---, hectic

Next get the chair got me going like General Electric

"Aaaant", the lights are blinking, I'm thinking

It's all over when I go out drinking

Insane in da membrane...

Insane, in da brain!

This is not fake news. Plant meeting was today. There will be a 20% reduction in hourly employees. Right now, they are asking for volunteer resignations in return for 12 weeks severance pay. After that, layoff will start to reach the 20% target, which is about 200 employees

So based on the comments ive read, so if not many people took that Resignation packages, people with pay#down to 7400 will be affected? More??

Asking for volunteers to resign with 12 weeks pay, no recall right, after that bumping process comes in to effect

I've heard pay numbers in the high 7700's, problem is that it is hard to tell how many gaps there are from people quitting or having been fired from the A scale, retention isn't what it used to be...
