More new product at Kmart

So I was getting ready to take my son on our annual scouting camp out and wanted to get him a new knife. A co-worker told me to check Kmart. Figured he was joking but I went online and was shocked.

We sell Ka-Bar, Ontario, etc all kinds of great brands (not marketplace either) after coupons etc the prices were much better than Amazons!

I was really impressed by some of the other stuff too. We have not carried brands this good in years! I’m starting to feel more hopeful so I thought I’d share this here because so many of us just feel hopeless. And here’s a link to prove it. I hope this really is the start of a come back for us.

They really have upped their game with the stained ceilings, damaged floors and dirty carpets, out-of-stocks, broken registers, and long checkout delays.

@evc - Average Kmart shoppers would not know what EBITDA. They've never heard of that term. Most of them aren't even able to balance a checkbook or understand the terms and conditions of a credit card application (or care to read through it).

For that matter, most of the public doesn't understand the principles behind EBITDA or GAAP and what differentiates the two. They wouldn't be able to tell you what that meant without looking at you strange. They can tell you detailed stats of their favorite football team or what the Kardashians did on the latest episode.

Sounds like that Kmart shopper is an outlier.

I am so excited at the non-branded toilet paper (not even a manufacturer name on the back, just a upc), Essential Everyday bottom of the barrel dry grocery, $4.69 loaves of Wonder Bread that have a shelf life of three months, and, the packer label brands of pretzels and potato chips that take up an entire aisle of the pantry department.

It makes me so excited to shop Kmart. So, so excited.

"I think Kmart has really upped their game. I say this as a Kmart shopper, not an employee. I think after reducing the store count and stabilizing the EBITA, that some effort is being put into making Kmart a strong and focused highly profitable chain."

Well, you've got me convinced. You really sound like the average Kmart shopper.

Imbecile.

@DFs op linked to the item, I just tried it, it’s easily verifiable. You post nothing and say you can’t get anything? Sure, occasionally an item is unavailable and some items arent suitable for shipping, but in my experience that’s the exception not the rule.

I for one am glad to see new lines coming into the stores and online. This explains how same store sales are down and profits are up (.com driving profit)

Good to see us expanding and offering top quality products again, wish everyone else could see that stuff like this is good for us.

These posts are interesting and exactly the opposite of my experience when I attempt to shop either the Sears of Kmart websites. I seem to always end up frustrated because the items I want are never available for shipping, nor are they anywhere nearby for pickup. Another fun fact is I have actually gone into a store (no longer local since they have closed all stores in my area, both formats) and found what was supposedly not available according to the website. Overall, the web presence of Kmart and Sears is a joke. I can't even spend money on the sites when I want to, so how is this transitioning sales to online?

@dtf actually they don’t. But yours sure does. Is seeking alpha discussion boards down again? Maybe you and Popcorn can come over here and post some more fake store closings.

Get a life troll. This is a board for people who work at sears not day traders who live in their parents basement.

Why do all these replies sound like they are written by the same person? Eddie, is that you?

We only have one store left by me but man they’ve really cleaned it up, even got a fresh coat of wax on the floor.

Tool department had better craftsman selection than our full line sears - ok not quite but they had a very good selection, 3 registers open and fairly short lines.

I do like the smart sense stuff especially when it’s 100% back in SYW. Hopefully they keep that, this store had a good selection anyway.

Kmart can actually be profitable in the future, unlike Sears. If only corporate would understand the customer base and reputation of each.
