Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

SSDD

I’ve been with Humana for 6 years. For the first couple of years I loved my job. It was doable and it provided me with a good work life balance. These past few years with Humana have been a nightmare. The constant changes and continual micromanagemt caused a tremendous amount of pressure on associates and management lost sight of the goal of doing what is right for the members.

I’m fine if leadership wants to listen to my calls. Listen to all of them - see how hard I work to try to ease their frustrations and clear up their confusion. I welcome it.

The members will not answer if they don’t have the same HCM. Hence more layoffs coming

That might be better for the members, in some ways. Less messy. Recent months have been messy and confusing for members.

They are moving to no assigned members. Autodialer is in the works apparently

If this is the way things are now, then they ought to change how we explain the program to members. Instead of “I am your dedicated RN case manager” maybe just “I am part of a caring team of RN’s. We are here for you. You will hear from one of us at regular intervals.”

Maybe with all this member movement, it would be better to not have assigned members? Just help who we need to help and who needs us.

I’m just thinking out loud how we could be less confusing to the members.

Haha right. “Associate missed an opportunity to make member feel better about the fact that she is the member’s fifth CM in seven months.” Do better, associates!

On second though - don’t do that. Some of you will listen to our calls and somehow fault us for the members’ frustration.

That’s one of the points that keeps getting missed -HAH really dropped the ball on properly taking care of members. I know that it’s just business, but if the layoffs could have been condensed to one or two larger ones, instead of one every quarter, there would have been less member movement. Members are frustrated- think not, leaders? Take some time and listen to our calls with confused members who are feeling passed around.
