Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Which groups/Org/Team have high attrition ?

Strong quality engineers tend to leave for better opportunities/growth when evaluated against the current situations. This will be a good indicator for groups with politics and reverse holds good for groups with low attrition.

Which other groups are sticking in but not really producing and/or contributing to the QC bottom line ?

My apologies, if I have offended or hurt you in any manner. You are correct, there are smart and genuinely nice people in Qualcomm and hence I mentioned, I would be weary of and not downright reject an ex-Qualcommer. But there is a toxic work culture in a lot of teams and people, who have worked at Qualcomm long enough, could potentially carry it over. The smart and nice folks at Qualcomm, in my experience, tend to be more of an exception than a rule.

The 2 year comment can be broken down into, 1 year to figure out Qualcomm and all the teams + the other 1 year to search newer opportunities. Considering the tech scene at SD, it takes longer for folks to find jobs elsewhere.

This is really not the brightest thing to write. There are lots of smart people at Qualcomm still. The company has its issues to be certain.

This 2 year comment is very arbitrary. Why would you even stay 2 years if it was that bad?

As an ex Qualcomm engineer, I would be weary of hiring anyone who has worked at Qualcomm, > 2 years. Hiring such an engineer would bring in all the traits(mostly bad), of Qualcomm culture. > 2 years at Qualcomm would mean the person was not driven enough to explore something better or he was not good enough to get selected at other tech companies. Both of them are big red flags
