Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Next week is March 2, 2018

That's the date several have predicted on here that there is something big in the works. Anybody ready to reveal what it will be? Or were you full of s**t?

Well it's March 2nd can't wait to hear the big news. I think it will be next week after the managers meeting on Tuesday. More layoffs maybe and or store closures? It's coming just a matter of when.

@RQF4cqz-3mbo I would love that to happen because we have another Sears store around 55 miles away if they fired the other SM and kept mine would love to see him driving back and fourth he probably go crazy having to be in charge of 2 stores.

somebody told me that they are thinking about rolling out a program where one store manager will run two stores -- I don't know how well that would go over for stores that are so far apart from each other -- and I think that obviously they would keep one of the two managers and can the other -- so if this comes in to play it could be considered a layoff ---

March 2 is nothing. It is mid March when everything changes. More lay offs. More corporate down sizing. Most of corporate will be consolodated and much of the campus will be closed and rented to other businesses. Many corporate jobs to be contracted out. It is coming!!!

Just on CNN a few minutes ago. They are reporting that Sears is shifting direction, related to store closures and employ lay offs. Ending store closings for the rest of 2018 and announcing employee wage hikes, in the order of 25-50%, to stay competitive with other retail stores.

I'd say that this rumor is "fake news", but then again with Sears Holdings you never really know!!

My store will never really close in April, it will turn into one of those stores that just pretends it's always going out of business, and we will just forever be an official liquidator of excess junk other Sears stores want to get rid of? Is that it? Say that's it.

I really don't think you can put a timeline on the demise of the company, given its history of rising and falling stock prices with no rhyme or reason.

Has to make anyone with a stock market backed IRA or 401k plan wonder about the basic foundation of their life savings.
