Pre layoff signals:

increase in security presence, especially stationed near doors, outside of parking garage and near gates.

HR people looking stressed and actively moving about between buildings. Bringing in HR people from other locations.

Huddles of Security and HR people ANYWHERE in building

Conference rooms reserved by ^^ said groups

Be very nervous if get get a "catch up with ____ " (fill in the blank with your boss'name) meeting invitation or call. This type seems to happen either in first part of morning or near end of day.
These are just some of the things I have noted since August 2017.

We see all pre-layoff signals in WC and RD that there are no sustainable projects and workers getting small assignments on weekly basis. Beyond that these offices are ghosts towns.
