Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

what happens to health insurance?

do we still get coverage for at least a time or do we get cut off as soon as we are laid off? a lot of people have provided info on severance packages, but i can't seem to find an answer to this question anywhere. i could deal with being laid off, but losing my medical coverage with no warning would be a disaster for me.

I am on Cobra after layoff last June. Premium is $952 for employee and spouse. Family would be around $1400. Per month. 18 mos and you can use HSA to pay premium which helps a little bit with taxes.

It's expensive, but on the flip side, it's better coverage than you get at Q.

Obama care is less than Cobra, plan on getting Obama care.

Use HSA to pay for your $1400 month insurance.

What is the current coverage provided ? Obamacare is something you may want to research.

Ask Google Uncle for covered CA and take if from there.

COBRA coverage must be offered to you for 18 months - you pay the premiums but are at least part of the group and it should be less expensive than the open market.
