In 2008 a memo got leaked by a H.O. Walmart exec named Linda Chambers.
The memo itself was lengthy and covered a variety of topics, mostly innoculous, but the passage that caused a real flap was a study she cited, that claimed 'the over-all productivity and cost effectiveness of a 20 year associate is no better than that of a 2 year associate. Allowing for age, lifestyles and illnesses, the 20 year associate is actually geometrically less productive and cost effective..' The words 'we should fire all the old associates' did not appear in the memo....but you kinda get the thinking
That was ten years ago. Imagine what they're thinking now----in light of these recent changes.
