Let's bring back the bench-marking tracker. You know, the table that objectively showed the performance of CHK against the other O&G companies. I don't think that tracker even lasted a year before Lawler took it off mychk.com because his CHK was the worst performer on that table. Instead, let's subjectively keep comparing team Lawler to Team AKM who built this great company from nothing, got CHK into all the big shale plays and secured the funding to run 180 rigs that were needed to HBP all the leases.

It was meant to track our progress towards top-quartile performance. We are in the bottom one-eighth... I would have removed it too. It was our daily reminder of how far we've fallen.

I’m all for a risk every now and again, I just don’t like to bet on green 00 at the roulette table with everyone else’s money and future.
You all need to go work at an ice cream store if you are so afraid of risk taking because this is a risky business by nature. If AKM hadn't taken the risk, those tens of thousands of people wouldn't have had a job in the first place.

Oh yeah, AKM did all that and in the process put his future and tens of thousands of other people’s futures at risk doing so. If AKM had not been replaced there would not be a CHK today. Every pencil, stapler, trash can and probably his own personal toothbrush was collateralized to do the things you are so proud of.
These criticisms are unfair. Product price changed and debt flourished as a result.

Lets be real here; once AKM was exposed we really learned how good he was or wasn’t through the farce known as AEP. Ask the boys in Houston if they would financially back him again. Or the thousands of investors he duped around the world. Fastastic salesman, of himself. The man only has a few fans left, and they all live in Oklahoma City. I can’t wait for the documentary of the most reckless billionaire.
Many still put down AKM. I am convinced if he was still alive and at the head of Chesapeake things would turn around. May he rest in peace.
