When you realize this isn't all about State Farm, and poke your head over your fishbowl to see layoffs going on everywhere, you will start to see the big picture.
At that point you will get it, or start to get it.

Listen, if any of you lose your job, you can work for me at my beet farm as human scarecrows. Although - - it doesn't pay much, and you can't unionize.
I am not an employee. I work for Sam's Club, we have layoffs too. I've been with State Farm for twenty seven years, free of accident, no speeding tickets and here in California I had increases twice in a year which surprised me. So, this makes no sense at all and is a sure way to lose a long time customer.
I hope your layoffs turn out not to be as bad as ours.
They over engineered the whole thing too
State Farm bungled this whole reorg in a major way.
True. But I wonder if the executives know they blew it, or if they think WE were the problem. Either way I'm glad to be out of there.
The ones up top need to go.
This is patently false. I was one of the lucky ones who saw the writing on the wall and got out prior to the announcement that my office was closing. I was scooped up by a rival company within two weeks and paid quite a bit more. We are thriving, not only at home office, but proximity around the country as well. It is nothing like State Farm, and better in every way possible.
Sure, layoffs happen everywhere. It's the nature of the beast. However, State Farm bungled this whole reorg in a major way. This is not happening elsewhere. Not even close. Wake up and move on before it's too late.
There is a ton of open positions in my accounting niche
A ton of hiring
No, layoffs are not happening everywhere. I live in a big city, and most companies are hiring. The job market is hopping.
And I've found out that State Farm has been underpaying me by about 30,000/year.
So this has been a blessing in disguise for me personally.
But no, this is not going on everywhere.
What world do u live in? You cannot justify the treatment of SF employees by saying it's happening elsewhere look out of your fish bowl. Get your a-- off of this site and shut the hell up. Obviously u r not affected.
