H1B is the problem not immigrant engineers, by skewing the cost of labor. By simply giving the same number of software engineers green cards as receive H1B today, any shortage or excess would self correct before too long, and salaries and employment would reflect the actual market.
Without H1B, cisco would have gone bankrupted long time back. Thank us for helping cisco growing every year.

Canada is hoping the US restricts H1B visas. They are more than willing to welcome the jobs coming to Vancouver B.C. Cheaper health care for the US corporations as well.

Most of new Cisco hires are H1Bs, which has an an impact on demand for those visas.

Get rid of H1B all together. We have plenty of qualified, experienced American engineers to do the job. Especially since we have brought over tons of Indians/Chinese over the past two decades. We don't need any more foreign engineers.
