Member Experience Lead?

Anyone else heard about the company merging Marketing Lead and MSS Lead into one position called “Member Experience Lead” thoughts on this?

Membership is still calculated the same for Sam share. Sorry to break it to you. Although scan n go and club pickup are figured in because you have to have a membership to use those benefits. It is the one true thing the company has that is pure profit. Your theory has flaws. E commerce is figured into each club numbers as well.

Instead of bashing people like the ML maybe look at the big picture. If you get rid of your marketing department how would you get your Sam share? Remember your Sam share is broken into three parts one of them being membership. If you get rid of them then you're relying on foot traffic into the club and third parties to sell your membership. Your numbers will probably suffer in the likelihood of that your Sam share will most likely be reduced greatly.

Too many people on here bash other departments and positions because they fear for themselves. Look at what you do on a daily basis do you show up on time, do you help other Associates out throughout the day, how many members have you helped and checking them out doesn't count, how often do you pick up trash on the floor instead of walking by it, how often are you pulled to other areas because someone didn't show up, how often are you called to come in on your day off, how many new activities or events have you come up with to improve your foot traffic in your clubs? There is enough blame to go around it is time to start using this site differently. Rather than bashing on department or positions how about we work together to improve our clubs. It can't be left up to just the managers to keep the clubs functioning it's all of our jobs.

Let's all face it our shrink is increasing and in order to combat that you need more memberships and the only way to do that is to have your marketing team out spreading the word. That foot traffic then comes in, it is the job of the club as a whole to show that we are worth their business. If you're not giving a lead to them to follow up on you're not helping them but they help you I bet.

It is sad to see so many adults act like they are in highschool. I do have a question how many of you that are full time don't have open availability? Some would say that you shouldn't have it. Full time is a rare benefit and opportunity that everyone looks for. If you bare holding a full-time position and you are restricted or change your availability you should be taken down to part-time.

I agree how are you signing on to do the hiring home office, took away access from all leads, to do the hiring, it’s the managers responsibility. I think you need to sit down with your managers and have a conversation about your responsibilities it’s not you in the office. In other words get your a-- on the floor and work.

if that’s true then the job will have to be posted and interviewed for just like the mgrs. can’t take one persons job away and hand to someone else. maybe there will be two leads on front. good thing in very busy clubs but def not needed in smaller clubs. for sure the mkt tl will not be happy leaving that cushy schedule. hello weekends and nights and mids.

If your doing the hiring, firing and coaching then your manager isn’t doing his job. Thank you for providing the evidence YOU,,,,,, do not have access to the wire with your sign on. At the end of the day you, are EXPENDABLE like the rest of us!

I am hearing the same thing. Our marketing lead does absolutely nothing but now that the word is out that the 2 position may be merging she is all upon the front end and membership desk like it's her baby.Funny how people feel it's important to make their selves look good only when their job is in jeopardy..We have a great mms. So back off ML nobody wants you on the FE.

I'll take it none of you are leads. If you are, step down. One your a leader, don't go on a website to b--ch. Be an adult..speak your mind. If your manager is doing all the hiring firing coachings, it's because you s--- at your job. Stop b--ching. Take control and get to work. Oh marketing leads. Your job is a joke. The front end lead does the most. Your spot is probably gonna be gone....

Man I can vouch for all these comments!! I use to be a lead, and USE to have lots of say and input into my area. As time went on I lost more and more. Finally I just told them I didn't want it anymore. I had no athority at all anymore. My manager would hire people without telling me he was even looking. When I had control over the schedules, my area ran smooth. He took over, and it was a constant mess. I was left with doing nothing but unlocking the compactor, and giving my associates bad info that the managers didn't want to deal with or would upset my associates. Oh and don't forget managers spark!!! These managers NEVER do it. When they do, it's just some clicks in the hand-held. They never actually walk and check temps. 95% of the time they have the leads do it. Leads are nothing anymore.

This is what I'm wondering too. Jobs cross paths too much so why not just have one lead over it all just like the manager.

Our store depends on who you are if you get promoted, they know before they post it. The managers go through the motions to make it legal of course. Last poster is correct nothing more than a hourly with keys unlocking local door so managers, don’t have to get off their asses. We wouldn’t want to interrupt them talking about associates, and making fun of them. God forbid if they have to go to the service desk and help.

Yes this is what I’ve heard as well, probably will happen after ybm. I say hallelujah I’m ready to be done with all the bs. Leads have less and less to do with scheduling, hiring, coachings, and evaluations. Back in the day being a lead was a privilege that had to be earned, now it’s just a patsy gofer. Every now and then you may be asked your opinion about business, but don’t count on it! Leads are now being promoted on which managers a-- you kiss the most.
