Store Managers Meetings

Just wanting to know how other districts handle their monthly Store Manager Meetings. Do you get extra payroll hours that week to attend the meeting or do you attend the meeting on your day off?

Heck if u had what I got u wouldn't mind working extra .... I got this really s-xy shift sup. It brightens my day when I see her ... I'd rather be around her than my wife.

It has really been difficult to NOT

Cross the line ...

It's hard to get the work done when I'd rather be standing around talking to her...

Sorry to tell you but they do this crap at my new job as well. If you're exempt they can and will do this stuff. Not just cvs I found out.

I’m the only one DL in my new region that hasn’t had a manager meeting yet. Feeling the pressure from my RD, but don’t want to give in. I value my employees time, and don’t want to have a meeting just to have a meeting. Try to cover whatever I need in a recap email weekly and one weekly combined rx/fs conference call at 1 in the afternoon.

Why is that a draw back?

That is the beauty of labor laws in CA. You must be paid for any and all time worked. The drawback is that is must come out of your hours for the week.

My DL holds conference calls at 730am! Before the pharmacy even opens!

Usually runs like 30-40 minutes.

I’m usually driving and not listening.

But it’s the culture of a he work, everyone is complaining behind their back but no one says anything for fear.

If the D L's care that much about their SM's, why don't they speak up on issues that affect their SM's each day? Must be the salary, huh?

And, oh, by the way, never go up the ladder with CVS on any problem without running it thru the D L, otherwise you will be chastised for not obeying orders. Didn't think I had joined the Army, but now, I think I have enlisted.

I hold very few meetings during the year and encourage my team not to make this their day off. I value my managers time off and work with them on this. My meetings never go past 4-5hrs. Believe it or not some DL’s actually care about their managers.

Just call in sick on another day of the week and stay home. You have unlimited sick days. Just don't use three in a row. They want to play games.. let the games begin!

Was told at my meeting with new D L, that they are watching sick days for SM's to cover their meeting days. Figure that!!

Does it count as a work day for your DM/DL? Then its a work day for you. If your in a minimum hour store as for OT. The federal definition for exempt vs non exempt gets very interesting for managers that perform grunt labor as the majority of your work week.

Not in Florida!!! Your manager meeting is your Day OFF.

Depends on the meeting type. For my reviews, I try to do it on a day off so if it pisses me off I'm just pissed at home and not with customers, if it's a district meeting I will make it one of my 5 days.

Pharmacy managers have to re-arrange their schedule so they still work their full 40 hours at the store and on thier day off go to the meeting! We don’t get paid to be there.

Only had two managers meetings last year. Both times I used one of my 5 days to go. I’m not hanging out and not getting paid.
