In my PIP, I felt the manager was out to get me. I do good one week then he would pile on more aspects to the PIP. Just a sign the PIP may not be going well. Also document document the feedback and get the manager to acknowledge the feedback. Want to use it as move ahead to show improvement. Also work wih direct manager. I was told I would need to impress my manager's manager. So I asked to have him direct the PIP. Big mistake.

Wouldn’t happen with a Union. This two years in a row and you are fired is crap. And yes there is a mandated distribution for people. They say there isn’t, but there is. Especially in Sky Harbor. Lists of chiefs and too few Indians. A union could bust this wide open and expose this process.

With. They pay you to sign the docs so you don't pursue a lawsuit.

kwo- not so. I’ve known folks in Tempe (3) with many years service be placed on a PIP for performance issues and got fired with a severance check. Of course signed their rights away to sue but they did get their 6 mid on those cases.

Now if you hit someone,?steal property egregious acts then I’d agree no severance.

Most if not all PIP terminations get severance pay (in my experience).

If you are part of a RIF then severance will be provided (assuming policies don't change).

However, if you are let go because of performance issues then no severance will be provided.

Do your very best to 'improve' and get the PIP; if you manager cares they will work with you to get you there. I've see both types of managers - if he/she is out to get you, then just move on because it's beyond your control. You are still valuable, if not at HI then somewhere else!

Good luck to you - courage!
