Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

People are Quitting like Crazy

The exodus has started.

Customer Success Mgrs and Application Sales Mgrs are heading for the door in numbers to competitors and new venture backed firms. These are the last of the remaining experienced talent.

Not just Solaris. How about our SaaS cloud? The only thing we have to go against Workday and Salesforce is FA? REALLY? Almost all of the FA apps are totally unusable. I have yet to see a single implementation that wasn't a total disaster. Problems like we never saw with EBS or other "legacy" software.

They don’t do anything useful and therein lies the problem.

So, we can't keep our customers safe .... So this "the economy is too good for us to function" ....

Seems to be very obvious what's happening.

If enough of the market (read paying customers) demands it, then sure, there will be a fix.

The company is only going to devote resources to profitable enterprises or contractual obligations.

Sparc and Solaris is dead or soon will be. Sounds like you have a problem with the fact that O. is dropping Sparc and Solaris as a business more than anything else.

Attrition is just normal part of business cycle.

Happens more if the economy is good.

Read up on economics if you have doubts.

So, we can't keep our customers safe because the economy is too good? Literally every other comercial OS was patched over a month ago. So this "the economy is too good for us to function" problem doesn't seem to impact our competitors.

Cool story bro! Tell that to the Solaris customers waiting for Meltdown and Spetre fixes. LOL.

people leaving now are just small noise in a well sounding machine.

that's simply a deceptive information. people are leaving, hundreds of people, yes, and it's completely normal in a 100,000+ employees company. Q3 will show significant growth, and this will consolidate the business and the stocks. people leaving now are just small noise in a well sounding machine.

Must be quite a "useful", "professional" and "enterprising" life you are leading after your un-fulfilling career at Big O that you find the need to constantly dwell on a forum dedicated to your antagonist.

I have a word you might like to learn: hypocrite.

"Get out and live, do something useful for a real company." -- Your words not mine. Maybe you should take your own advice and stop your whining.

"We are not at Oracle."

Then why do you care? Do you also care about what's happening at HPE, Dell or IBM?

Dearest @RWqPFf6-1kag :

We are not at Oracle.

Now you can attack that.

Not everyone thinks their work is a "FARCE" or need to rip the company at every opportunity.

Don't judge other ppl just because you have a non-fulfilling role and you think you can do better.

No one is holding you here, why don't you leave this company you hate so much, be a useful superstar and stop whining?

By gravy train, do you mean FARCE? Keep the FARCE going. Because that, my friend, is not what true professionals do. Being a part of a well funded FARCE is not what good, professional, enterprising people do with their lives.

Agree. Oracle is filled with lazy people hanging onto the gravy train. Get out and live, do something useful for a real company.

Will there be layoffs in June?

I suppose that depends on how many people are laid off next quarter. I think there is $400 million or so left in the budget for severance.
