Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Has any SM gone through an FFL class yet?

The RM for my area is starting an FFL in the near future. Can anyone who has already gone through it vouch for its helpfulness or lack there of? Do you feel any closer to a potential EL role? Thanks!

You get out of it what you put into it. Be prepared to push yourself on the key experiences and your project. Your DM support is key, If your DM doesn't think you can do more, push them or any DM to help you.

The class is an opportunity to show the RM, DL and HR what you are doing to grow and they're the ones who ultimately decide who gets into EL. (At least when i was there) In my experience it was a great experience because my DM believed in me and pushed me. I credit this program for my success at cvs and now outside it at another retailer.

Best tips I could give if you're going to do it are plan your time, get your DM on your side, do all the assignments

PROs: Good exposure to RM, learn lots of new leadership skills, learn how to be an even better manager, learn more about the behind the scenes of the company/retail, gateway to other career paths including EL

CONs: time demanding, in one location (for me i had to drive 1.5 hours there), you can be partnered with other people who don't care as much about their development for your group project, not paid
