Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I can confirm that retaining store employees has become very difficult

New employees are only lasting 3-8 months and the older term employees have either checked out or getting ready to leave. Some stores in my district had to close for a few weeks due to there being no employees. And when managers go to check for new applicants none have applied. All of the good reps have left my district/store and I fear it will only get worse

Not going to happen. There are still too many frontline VZW workers who think everything happening is fine and that VZW is the greatest company ever. You would think with how often they get screwed over it would click but they’re hopeless. Just blind sheep following their leader

Every rep in every store complains about the same stuff, work like balance, high quotas, less money for more work, micromanageing and outrageous kpi targets, but the company can't seem to figure out what the problem is.

Just passed day 90 at Comcast. Yeah, it's not utopia, but it's a company in its retail "infancy." So far, everyone that's come over from VZ (and there are a f$%k-ton of them) has been hugely successful due to our previous experience and expertise.

It's a different culture here... there are some entitlement issues and reluctance of the old "cable store" folks to shift gears to a sales mentality...but that's all the more reason ex-VZ folks look amazing.

And they appreciate the work you put in here...big time. And you can't beat free 250 MBps internet and free TV (including most premium channels, like HBO, et al). 6% match on 401k as well.

Plus, you'd still be selling stuff on the Verizon network.

I'm really glad I made the jump.

Work with the frontline workers not against. For years they purposely tweak the quotas to ensure less money is going to reps and pushing reps to come up with ways to make quota which results in unethical tactics. Its all a damn game to Verizon and they been doing it for years. They’re just as bad as Wells Fargo

This is a simple fix get rid of all the bs metrics and put people in management that have a sales background because those are the people who get it.
