Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Would you recommend Kmart or Sears to family/friends?

Honestly, would you?

My Kmart is closing, and, no matter the 'deals' that might be available, I've told my wife to stay away.

It's a very unpleasant shopping experience.

Lunch hour?

What is that?

Sure, I'd recommend. Then again, I recommend getting a Colonoscopy and Lebotomy on the same day during the lunch hour.

It’s actually true. Of course you need to spend some money to get anything back, but over the years I have really been able to save a lot with points, surprise Points and coupons. My favorite are the 100% back In Points offers :-). The people who say they never get anything clearly don’t buy to begin with. Also a lot of people seem really jaded. Don’t let sears consume your life. If you can get a good deal with Points do it, other wise move on

@1yip. Honestly if you start buying and getting the points you would be amazed how much free stuff you get as an associate. But it takes buying the stuff first without a discount and then starting to accumulate the points.

@1fpr nobody said anything about helping the company. If they offer a great deal, why not take it?

I’m not boycotting my company. I’m boycotting a company that treated me horribly after many years of employment. And it’s not helping your company by using SYW points to get all the free stuff. They are losing money.

I would and I do. Can’t tell u how much free or nearly free merchandise my family has gotten thank to SYW. Right now any home item get $40 back in points! Bought a rice cooker (same price as amazon) for 44.89 got $40 back in points.

No it’s not free, but it’s like buying the rice cooker and getting $40 of free groceries (the points were used at a local kmart) oh, and the cooker was delivered in 2 days thanks to syw max.

So yes, only an idiot would not shop at sears right now. Many lines still the best, prices usually the best, if not we price match and the SYW program is FREE MONEY!

Now the closing stores, those prices are a ripoff and I would not go in any of them. But online or in our stores still operating, hell yes!!!

My garage is full of gladiator products (sad we don’t sell them) all purchased for pennies on the dollar to what I could buy them at lowes or Home Depot. I have every craftsman hand tool you could imagine shovels rakes garden hose screwdrivers sockets wrenches etc. All were purchased from probably ten cents on the retail dollar.

Boycott your own company if you want but realize that when u look in the mirror, an idiot is looking back at you.

And taking away employee discount was a dumb move too!

Why shop there now when we can get discounts st Kohls which are better than the points they offer us now!!

I was let go March 2016 after 38 years and I or my family members have not set foot in Sears or Kmart since. As the other poster stated I also purchased all my needs from Sears and Kmart and these stores employees WERE their best customers.

I was laid off from Kmart last year. Prior to that and over the 20 years that I worked there all my family and friends shopped at Kmart. Do you think any of them shop at Kmart or Sears anymore? That would be no. I don’t think Eddie or upper management realized that their best customers were their employees. And part of the sales declines are the loss of those sales
