Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

L&D, Ad Services, Bank updates?

What’s the news from the past week in these departments? L&D had their meeting. Ad Services had meetings. What’s going on?

My understanding is that it will be in all locations. I can’t confirm that is in hubs or corporate as I only know of the legacy regional offices. I don’t want to name a specific location I heard my information about as I don’t want it to come back on me or her.

Where is that Ad Service cut being made?

I can tell you I know a little more info about Ad Services. I was made aware a couple months back that the a local leadership member told a group of employees that they should expect at least a 50% reduction in each location and to plan for QTDs between October and November. She also shared that the cuts will be from leadership down in some cases leaving one manager in a location and in the location I am most familiar a 50% reduction would put us under 12 Ad Services staff members.

I don’t think Bank is prepared to do anything yet. Since the pieces of the bank all work together (loans and deposits, etc.) it may be more difficult to hack it away department by department. Of course I wouldn’t eliminate the possibility of doing away with Bank all together. I still haven’t heard a word or had a glimmer of hope that leadership actually has a plan in place. They are just running in the dark right now. Prove us otherwise, State Farm! You can’t continue to blame your losses on your employees.

Ad Services meetings (at least the one I was in) were pretty much the same thing... Changing the business model, things are changing, a transition plan is in the works; same message once again. Still no numbers in terms of staffing or a QTD...
