Did I miss something or was there no real hint or indication of the latest layoffs round?

It was March. 1st March.
I heard something about it but thought it was in March, but maybe there’s another round in March! Yippee! At this point, I just always have the parachute packed and get as much training as I can for the next job.
Gone are the days of large scale once a year LRs, that was not good for moral or stock. Layoffs are now smaller scale but constant. Anything to manipulate EPS for the quarterly calls with the market. Chuck is milking Cisco for all it’s worth and so should everyone else, if they have any sense.
Its all numbers driven game now not engineering driven. Wall street does not care we sell shoes, clothes, bananas, routers , bags of rice and beans — so long as stock buybacks continue and some margins are there.
We are competing to be 2nd best at best. We no longer attract the top 20% of job seekers at any level
Dude, dream on. Chuk and Kells see nothing but expense in engineering. An evil to be vanquished. They always say there is a shortage. Yeah, a shortage of cheap engineers. This war on engineering expense will pay dividends for a while, then hit a cliff. Gonna be ugly.
These are limited restructuring layoffs. They don't have to be announced
It coming all the time. My dev team got the impact but I survived. Chuck always talk about the innovation but keep firing developers. We need to have developers summit with the ELT so they understand them to use engineering for innovation!!
We need to explain them how we can grow new product and make them. Chuck needs to better partner with engineering because we can be the innovation engine to drive customers success. Our big problem is we have to many brain dead sales and BDM who can't know how to sell the technology of today or future software. The only technical capability sales has is to order food and play on the Facebook or tinder.
We need new leadership and engineering has to be tip of the innovation and sales spear so we can survive! Chuck will listen and understand but we need to have sit down with him. I hope this works.
