Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

PTC

Has anyone heard about the PTC position? Our club manager just stepped down to a PTC and it gives me hope that they are holding on to us for a little while longer.

Walmart to cut hundreds of HR jobs at home office by end of the month. http://fortune.com/2017/01/10/walmart-jobs-layoffs/

RaGS4uE-lmm Are you serious? Of course they would put a gm in that position. he/she probably would have dropped to an assistant mgr so something is off. sounds as if the gm was coached down to hourly or out the door. No gm voluntarily steps to hourly so they really don’t care what becomes of the former gm. A gm would resign get fired or stepped to asst. so yeah it really does matter how he got there

Really club manager to ptc? That makes no sense.

doesn't matter how the cm ended up as ptc. it just matters that they are ptc and hard to believe that they would let someone step down to a position that was being eliminated

true or not IDK but I “heard” the HO human resources would be hit with layoffs soon but the stores/ clubs were not mentioned. so possibly at least for the time being left in place. not sure i would bank much on a gm stepping down like that. sounds more like forced down or forced out. that’s usually the way it goes. but always to an asst mgr so something seems fishy. but who knows.

You must be NC...I would think if they left a cm step down to that position it would be safe bet you will be ok
