It's confirmed. In an attempt to make Qualcomm more attractive to BCOM we are 'restructuring' which will involve a layoff of about 1000 personnel worldwide.

Qualcomm decided not to have layoffs in 2018.
QCOM merger with BRCM is possible some day in future when QCOM management realizes what is happening around in the same ecosystem.
Not true. Minor restructuring / moving departments next week to reduce department cross charging, no layoffs.
