Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Our job security just dssappeared completely

How can they close stores without warning, without giving people a chance to make any kind of a plan for the future?

This is utterly disgusting way to handle this. I'm lucky, my store is still up and running, but now I'll never know if I'm going to show up to work one day and find it locked with security around.

Shame on you, Sam's Club!

It's happened long before this:

Club in Ohio closed with no notice, they gave everyone 60 days pay and closed the club immediately without reopening. They've changed practices since then it seems but you're still not going to give a lot of notice to people.

It would be nice if they would transfer employees to other stores. At our meeting we were told we could apply from scratch at the WM. But that means casual part time, completely flexible schedule, and minimum wage. After 27 years of dedication, that's not a great solution.

Exactly they send this email about bonuses and they decide to announce store closures. To think to have alittle hope for this company and they do this jerk move.

They have notice. It’s not today they are closing. They have the chance to get a new position in the company or take a severance package. I’ve worked for other companies that have closed and do it the same exact way.

That's how all companies do it. It's sad for the associates. They'll offer another Sam's or Walmart location to those effected if possible.

“But let’s announce a BONUS today”. Very classy, very classy.
