Pay Raise and Bonuses btw were closing stores

Bonuses for the following

$250 for those who’ve been with us 2 – 4 years

·$300 for those who’ve been with us 5 – 9 years

$400 for those who’ve been with us 10 -14 years $750 for those who’ve been with us 15 – 19 years

$1,000 for those who’ve been with us 20+ years

· An associate who doesn’t benefit from a pay increase and has been with us less than 2 years would be eligible for a $200 bonus.

Is this “bonus” replacing our Sam’s Share? I hope this is not the case but would not be surprised if that is how it has been worked out.

Sam’s Club has been struggling relative to Costco for some time. Take a look at the last 5-10 years of sales and operating profit performance. Sam’s does not publish a lot of detail on membership, the primary driver of profitability in the warehouse business model but it was a factor in closing the 60+ clubs. It should come as no surprise that there are underperforming clubs in the portfolio.

This a tough, but necessary decision to improve Sam’s Club returns. I feel terrible for the Sam’s Associates who are impacted and their families. It is even more tough because of the short notice. Members are also impacted as some have their prescriptions with Sam’s amongst all the other shopping they do there. I hope everyone has as smooth of a transition as possible.

After 13 years of toiling here I am getting $400 - once they deduct taxes, I'll end up with $270
