Well, I'm still here. Guess they changed their minds about the receiving clerk.

So is there still talk of a split shift for night crew?

@RcN3mFu-4yyn 3 really. We have 1 person each night then i (tl) comes in early almost everyday to help finish. I go to nights when needed to train or what is needed. It sounds like your TL is lazy but don't put us all in that bucket.

3 people overnight? We barely have 1.

I’ve heard the rumors about th tl being cut but nothing about them going to nights. We can’t even get our entitled tl to go overnight for even a night so him being forced to won’t happen. We still have 3 people overnight but if the shift changes everyone is hoping for a package so they can quit. Sad but true.

How people on here saying Sams Club can’t eliminate Recieving clerk and tl.... Walmart did it and Walmart have more items then Sams Club

If they go to split shifts can the current associates get severance? People who work nights work those hours for a reason, they often can't change.

Walmart is so greedy. they are not losing money. they just want more profits and less employees Management does not care about hourly associates

Stores are definitely going to split shifts for o/n associates. I know because my sister works at a store that is testing it. I don't know about the job position changes though that stuff is rumors until it happens.

Are these rec leads going to nights as leads or are they going to nights because their position is getting eliminated?

I work in a test club. The majority of receivings are done during the day with exception of DC trucks, freezer cooler, and candy. In our club, there is no way that one person can handle the load of what comes in on a day to day basis. Paper, water, large soda deliveries, etc is scheduled as early as possible so that it can be run out before store opening. Otherwise, dock space is severely compromised. Liquor, beer, smaller soda deliveries, and occasional smaller paper loads are scheduled after 7 am. With hours moved up to 3:30am - noon, getting done with local freight along with UPS and FedEx deliveries before shift end is also very difficult. Afternoon/Evening shift only has one receiver. Getting 2 DC's unloaded and run, along with freezer/cooler, and candy is about all he can do from the time the store closed until shift end. Stocking is an issue as well. With reduced stocking hours, we fell behind during the holiday season big time. Now in Janurary it looks like we're finally gaining a little ground.

I don't know what the plan is for Receiving but if they plan on eliminating overnights and going to the split shift, they would be wise to keep some people in there.

I, too, would be 10x more shocked if Rec Lead went overnight than if the position was just eliminated...

yes correct logically. Gosh I really do not know the companies plans. if team lead were moved to nights I would be shocked. Honestly I think someone made it up.

So, if your correct and night crew will be working day shift, there would be no reason receiving team lead would be moved to nights, am I correct?

the answer is day shifts. We won't know anything til the day of which could be who knows when, probably early morning or day before it happens.

I would like to hear from some test market clubs. Are you guys working nights or day shifts? We have all been told there will be two shifts, 4 am-12 and 4 pm- midnight. Please share how it's going and if the rest of us will follow that schedule.

There still is a Day dock receiver. Dayside doesn’t unload full trailers, it’s all supposed to be overnight. Day side does local venders and ups, fedex.

Our club hasn't had a receiving clerk for almost a year. They told us roughly 9 months ago the position was going away. We do have a receiving TL, though I can't see them getting rid of that position as who would receive all the stuff that comes in during the day.

What about those clubs with noise ordinances and can’t receive overnight?

no such thing as choosing a job. you apply if there’s an opening along with anyone else then interview. the same rules are for everyone. now we all know that nothing is fair. gm have broken every rule of fair and equal there is. the special ones get protected. sad but true. this in the past when grass roots vaguely meant something was always a question that was rated very low. watched it happen for the last 10 yrs.

So who does receiving during the day? We only have lead and clerk.

So, both jobs are eliminated. One goes to nights and has a job? Wherebis the clerk going? Clerk doesn't have a job? Gets canned? This doesn't make and sense! In my club the TL is quitting, so does the clerk go to nights? When audit was eliminated they had 60 days to choose a job. The same should apply to both these positions!

When will this be announced to Associates? I have heard all of these “rumors” ! I,as wel, hear that night crew will be split into two separate shifts. 4-12 and then half at a later time of afternoon such as 12-9pm. No receiving clerk and no lead just one receiving day and one claims-cross trained in all jobs

will there be three people on overnight rec then??...or will one of the people there have to change depts to make room for the TL ?? sounds to me that a lot of the rumors over the last two months were put hear to mislead so we would not see the closings coming.......

But I thought they were splitting over nights into 2 shifts? So why would the TL move over night if there wont be an over night anyway?
