Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Clubs

When they said some big changes I never dreamed of 63 clubs closing. This is huge for Sams Club 63 clubs gone? It all started when no checking for members cards, don’t transfer let them (members) be happy and steal you blind etc... I could go on and on. The changes over the last past couple of years it’s true writing is on the wall. Club managers were just as clueless as the rest of us. This happened when at club level don’t have a voice. CM’s need to speak up your in the clubs day in day out instead the higher ups trying to run the clubs from behind desks in Arkansas. We used to able to have say and merchandise and do what worked for our club, now it’s all dictated and folks are scared to do say or do anything. Talent in clubs forget about that anymore they’ve eliminated them one by one. It’s sad that they would rather see us close doors to compete with Amazon well let me tell you Amazon is laughing at us.

sam’s realized they can’t compete with Costco head to head. sam’s is always 10 steps behind and trying to just catch up, not doing it better or equally just catch up. so they decided to close 60 some odd clubs and put the money in ecommerce. sam’s will continue to close stores and eliminate people over the next years until gone. walmarts will close stores as well but not completely. you can already see what’s happening in stores with products or lack of. walmart will never truly compete with amazon because of the caliber that’s at the top of the chain. innovation is not there along with the leaders to make it happen. walmart will lose before ever getting started. if you planned a career or even just a long time employment with walmart don’t waste valuable time thinking i survived this round so it will get better. it won’t.

They moved the date up to hide it behind the news about the bonus and raise to minimum.

Do you all read the wire? AMP? Transferring everything to the belt except for heavy items began again early December to prepare for remodeled front end. This is for all clubs this new year.

There are clubs that were far from dead weight as noted on many posts. You are very incorrect on that.

Clubs with the new front-end layout does a form of transferring. Everything but heavy items go on the belt.

63 clubs is about 10% of the clubs. They cut the dead weight.
