Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

I’m sorry for all of the stores that are closing

7 year associate here. I planned on making my job a career when I first came in so I did my best to learn every area as time went on. I have worked in receiving the last few years and I’m just waiting for judgment day. I hope you all can find a job that suites your abilities, in my personal opinion we may all have a bad taste in our mouths by how this company treats it’s employees but as individual clubs and as a complete sams club unit we stand by each other and will all make it through this it only takes time. I have three friends that have left my club to become managers in other states that left their families to pursue the career they wanted and it hurts to hear the things they are worried about now but we all have the experience in what we did do to fall back on in new jobs. I hope everyone the best

Keep thinking they can not do away with this job or that one. Same thing people in audit was told and speaking with them they thought the same thing as you posted, no way you can Sam’s Club run without...well, surprise, you just found out how wrong you were.

The thing is you can't totally eliminate receiving. We do over 100 mil in sales per year. You can eliminate the clerk and do away away with the dock lead title. We haven't had a clerk for about 5 years now. 1 lead and 1 doc associate. Yes there are days where one person could handle the workload and other days it's not possible.
