More Job Cuts Coming Next Week

The store closings were just the beginning of what’s to come. Next week they will be announcing more changes, Technology lead is going away, Jewlery lead is going away, Membership team is going away, they will be cutting one Manager out of the store again that’s the reason behind the survey that every manager had to take 2 months ago. Any manager that has a coaching on file with a low evaluation will be cut. There is talk about markets being realigned and Market managers having to reapply, Club managers with low performance and coachings will be cut. Fresh Manager and fresh areas will not be affected by any changes as there is a big focus around fresh and its future to expand its business. The company is looking to expand its Club pick up program and we will see more wages and changes to that area of the business.

I do believe the company is coming to an end.... No matter where you work as far as Sam's is concerned it's over...Home office is way beyond what we can even imagine. Everything is about sitting on your a-- with the c phone and having it magically appear on your door for some poor person who just made $9 bucks an hour in our great country.... Yeah Trump ☹ Just to be clear ,Sam's home office couldn't Care Less and they having been showing everyone for a couple of years now!!!!

Management being held to high standards !........hahahahaha what a hoot.....the managers are the setters of low standards....if they actually did their jobs there would be few workers having low standards...............

Survey did not ask age or race, asked if willing to move states, out of your current country and where. When you would be willing to move in months. Education.

I would love to see how a third party is going to get certified to drive a lift to drop and stock all the tv's, I'll be damned if I will drop for them when they put my friends out of work. Corporate needs to wake up!!!!!!!

A third party is going to merchandise, drop and stock and build displays for televisions, laptops, tablets, computers, printers, speaker systems, etc. as well as execute no-movement and audits? Interesting.

I’ve worked for Sam's Club for 31 years. I saw this coming for the past couple of years. We use to base our company on memberships and now they don’t even check them at the door anymore. Our membership base has dropped greatly and as far as the fresh areas go, they won’t need to expand when they don’t have any members.

None of this surprises me as they’ve already taken away everything we ( long term) worked so hard for. Vacation, sick pay, personal time, etc. I don’t think this is the end of it.

The Alaska and Washington clubs were part of market 63 and the one Sacramento club, 6623 was also part of the market. So market 63 just lost 7 clubs. There will most likely be market shifts. Market 63s market manager left for Walmart in October or November and have not replaced them yet.

I can see markets being restructured. They completely wiped out huge sections of the country. No more clubs in Alaska. You aren't going to need market managers if the market is gone.

RcyCE6q-miy. so what? do you think that changes any decisions or plans. do you think they are trying to see “who” comments. the ONLY reason may be to see if anyone is stupid enough to post about union activity

Don’t forget some clubs have one extra manager from when they changed the fresh manager role.

I can see the end of this retail giant coming in the years to come as Doug continues to make more bad choices. Find another line of work retail is dead.

The information I posted was based on rumors I got from a colleague that works at home office, she heard bits and pieces being passed along about the Sams Club side last week. Sorry I don’t have any other info other then what was passed down to me and what I have posted. Like all rumors people tend to change or speculate the information and somewhere in the middle the truth lays.

Back in 2014 when they had the restructure any manager with 2 coachings were let go and anyone with a needs develop were let go, wonder if this will be the same again? Or will it be based on total performance?

The clubs will be on fire today with gossip flying abroad and club managers and assistants running around trying to kill any negative company banter of said store closings along with gossip of more job cuts. I can see moral among associates at a low and panic reeking throughout the company

do You have to have both coaching and low eval to be cut or is it either or and your gone?

I also heard rumors this week something similar to this but I will believe it when I see it. We all know the market managers had a meeting this week so I’m certain Club managers will be offsite soon for there private meeting then when you see the closed door meeting with assistant managers next week you will know we are next to know the fall out of what’s to come.

Hell if they cut anymore positions how would they expect us to take care of the members, we already struggle with the small amount of people we have on the sales floor now and all the work they want done each day. One person in HARDLINES during the day, one in grocery, a few in center, one in freezer cooler and most of the time the day is spent spotting a forklift to stock stuff the night crew couldn’t get done because they are short staffed.

What determines what manager gets cut?

I don’t have a copy of the survey, can’t remeber if it asked my age or race but it did ask about education, prior job experience before coming to Sams Club, asked if I would be willing to move and where that’s about all I can remember from it.
