Terry Lundgren and his ego started the problems. Gennette is just a leaner, meaner version of him and loves firing people. Gennette's actually run the strategy for years- he is no fresh new face. Look at how may millions they have spent on top executives from outside the company who have no long term dedication. They will get rid of folks who perform well, mak more money and see what is going on. Been there- was there for 28 years.
Maybe he will read some of the posts on this site and see what a mess he has created. Maybe he'll read some of them at the "BIG MEETING" that none will be watching.
Agreed. Terry had the vision that got us through the tough times. The shareholders screwed us over and Terry. You need to bring Terry back Jeff. I think this is too much for you to handle. Just being honest. Let him advise you for another 2 years.
You must be joking....he’s the reason the company is in the shape it’s in today. One Macy’s....no one wanted One Macy’s....customers wanted regional stores that were something special to visit when traveling to Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Dallas, etc.... we miss our Marshall Field and you know the boycott since 2006 has hurt Macy’s State Street more than anyone will admit. Within one year of the big OneMacys, regions and districts started getting merged, stores closed, and it’s not over either.
Terry had Jeff Under his wing before he left. I think he advice him on future strategy. He started the ball rolling before he left. Why we're so many tenured ,smart and dedicated people let go last year??? Maybe it was to cut the legs of the future king.I think Terry didn't feel appreciated for all his hard work and dedication to MACY'S. Jeff, you can still turn the ship around . Have a talk with God and go with your gut feeling.Remember fear is the devils work. May God bless you' and all the MACYS FAMILY. You and you trusted people need to manage a busy store for a week to feel the energy and embrace past roots and plant future one's. Look at BOP's and fulfillment from start to finish and the pick up and service offered.You will be surprised at the mess "ask" the associates around the store then you'll understand why we are not strong on on line shopping. It's all about the experience!!!. Look for Magic service and how much each person has on their plate.Your a smart man and I believe in you. Have every take notes , regroup and execute a new plan.
