Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

I wish it was done already

It's been nearly half of the month, and we still don't know when the next Humana layoffs are coming and who's getting laid off. All we know is that they are coming for sure, and from that Forbes article, now we know that it's going to be around 200 people.

Why can't they just come out and tell us already? I highly doubt those on top don't know exactly who'll stay and who'll go in the next round. Why torture us like this?

As far as starts of new year go, this one is by far the worst for me.

If they want us gone before the second quarter begins, the layoff meeting can't be later than Jan. 31 to fit the 60-day notice and have us out before the first work week starts in April.

I agree with you! seems like it always happens on a Tuesday with meeting on Wednesday followed by a town hall telling what direction the company is heading in.

Just hope for the sake of a paycheck and the chance of getting another job it's later rather than sooner. I am a smart gal, I have been using these extra few days/weeks to find another job. Let them dither, they can keep paying me as long as they want. I won't be waiting for the severance if I get a bite.

I would say it won’t be until February since end of year Evals run through the 31st

The Forbes article is wrong, it will be significantly higher than 200.

I agree! 200/250 sounds low considering how many members have been discharged or moved to monitored status. Good luck everyone. We must be excellent employees to have lasted this long. Feel proud of yourself and know you will be an excellent assest to another company .

I think it is bigger than just 200

Does anyone know how many or what percentage of each area they’re looking to layoff? And will that be it, or more each quarter? Is this the layoff discussed earlier based on open enrollment?

I don't think 200 is the magic number. I think it will be significantly higher. For all we know, the remaining 200 could be for another part of Humana. I don't think these HAH were included in those totals and probably decided upon after the press release in November. Forbes was going on the November projections.

Sounds like next week there will be layoffs in every role. After the HCM RNs move the PHC members they received to monitored they will let the RNs go . Not looking very healthy for HAH

I’m a nobody, but I think it will be next week. I anticipate a confidential email Tuesday evening for a meeting Wednesday. There’s a town hall meeting scheduled on Thursday. This seems to have been the Humana pattern. HCM RN here
