Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

What a mess they’ve made!

Since when do we follow others, our philosophy is take care of the associates and customers. Sam Walton must be really proud how they have f---ed things up!

Sam's club isn't a non-profit organization. 99% of the clubs that are being closed are losing money. Many have other clubs close by that were recently built. Some stores were just bad real estate decisions that were made by previous leadership. The company has made many bad decisions when buying property that they are paying for dearly. Sam's club will still continue to build clubs and make better decisions. People blame Doug but he will be the reason that Wal-Mart survives when other shut down all their stores. Wal-Mart has shut down many stores before. If people want to continue employment most will have an opportunity at another store. I've never seen anyone that really wanted to work for Wal-Mart not have a chance to. It may not be the position they want but they can keep their job.

Whilst I am not happy about the closing or what MIGHT happen to me there is something we all have to understand and understand it well.

While this all looks like a mess to us...the ones adversely affected.....the ones who make these decisions are in no way adversely affected.....ie Doug McMillon....he may be momentarily saddened by folks losing their homes or kids going hungry but at the end of the day for him it is like watching news of a hurricane in another part of the world....and we all do that...watch the news , get sad for a bit and go to bed happy.....Instead of feeling personally responsible for wrecked lives the Executives say " it wasn't me...it was the corporation.....as if the corporation has a mind of it's own ......

so while in our minds this whole thing is a mess in their minds it is going as planned and will again in their minds be a raving success.....

Mr. Sam's philosophies stopped being used the day after he passed away. One example is one at the HO. The Executives' parking spots are closer to the building than the handicapped spots. Mr. Sam believed in no special parking spots for anyone. This one example tells me everything I need to know about the company.
