Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

If your store is closing what are your plans?

I'm still not sure what to do. Why transfer to another Sam's for something similar to happen again in the near future? I lost my audit lead position less than a year ago. A position I held for 5 years. I loved it, and was good at. Took a different lead position that was ok, but I didn't have time to really get into it, and now wham I have no store at all anymore. I understand change happens, but I can't see myself going to another location, probably have to take a lower position, and who knows what will happen next year. It's just not worth it, but it's so hard to find something else right now.

It's in the Associate Pay Plan FYE 2018 on the WIRE. Towards the end.

Yes, your club didn't do the job transfer correctly. Your PTC needs to contact the Walmart Wages Dept at HO. A manual pay adjustment needs to be made. And it's not too late for your friend to get it fixed!

Many managers and PTCs don't know the policy for job eliminations. When my job was eliminated, I brought it to my CM's attention. Once it was confirmed through HO, my Club also made retroactive wage adjustments for the Audit team who had lost their jobs 6 months prior, and they received all of the back pay they were due because of the retroactive pay difference.

They systematically did the transfer wrong then. I wish I could find the policy on the wire.

You DO lose pay if you go to a lower job. My friend lost $.90 when she went from audit to tobacco.

You don't lose pay if your hourly job was eliminated and you take another hourly position within Sam's Club, even if it is a demotion.

you”ll get paid for 60 Days while you decide. If you don’t take a new position in the company you’ll get severance. If you take position you were able to take the 60 Days pay in the meantime. Once you accept a new position you forfeit the 60 day pay and the severance. Take this time to figure out what you want to do.

That’s what I don’t understand how they take more than they gave us that legal.

Worst part is when you step down from TL you lose more pay then what your original raise was.. you lose a flat 10%(or 5% if you can get cos or equivalent level).

Transfer to another location while you look for something else. It's either that or quit.....
