If your job at IBM has been cut or outsourced then you should speak to a manager about possible reinstatement. My personal experience working at IBM is to talk to a manager to rectify the issue and ultimately retain your position at Big Blue. Speaking to an IBM manager solves all problems.
You need to identify the IBMer who made the decision to eliminate your job—admittedly this might be difficult—and then have a word with the manager about how his or her subordinate had you fired. IBM managers never side with their employees in these types of situations, ostensibly because it makes themselves look resolute and determined before their own superiors.
Please note you will probably speak with an IBM general manager or a vice president but there is no other option if you hope to stay at the company. This loophole is the only realistic way of saving your job at IBM.
