Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Interesting.............

There were once 660 clubs. Supposing an average employment of 150 associates that would be 99,000 workers.......the largest amount of views any of the topics on the page has is less than 7000....supposing some of the views here were made by one time lookers we might think the total number of people to view this page to be between 7000 to 10000........that would mean 89000 workers have not seen this site and most have not even heard of it...................with such a small representation of the Sams workforce here how much of what is here can be thought to be true??

Yeah, most people don't care or barely use the internet. Look at your door greeters, the older cashiers and office staff who struggle with learning the computers. And some of the people here probably say nothing to anyone in their building so not as many people know about the site, or they just rely on the one person to sift through all the bs.

I've seen many things posted here cone to fruition. That being said. Everyday when I clock out and haven't heard anything specific, I know I have 90 days more....

@1xgo - huge majority of our folks just do not care. most part timers do not care. cart folks do not care. half of the folks you work with do not know what a browser is. the other half never does anything outside facebook. i do agree with you that folks on this site do not represent the company in its entirety, but the sample is large enough to indicate a thing or two.

This site has been head on. It may take months or even a year or so, but most I read and passed on to associates at my store have come to pass. Management asked me how do I find out about things even they didn't know. Some call me physic. Lol.

So are you saying the cart guys are the ones not posting here?...I bet they have home office info by the cart load !!....lol........I am not sure that I think low numbers here are in any way a valid measure of the truth of the comments here. I was just curious about the fact that there are indeed so few folks here in relation to the population of the clubs. When considering that very very few of the associates have no interaction with the internet it would seem reasonable that a larger amount than perhaps 10 percent would be knowledgeable about this site. Knowing how rumors and scuttlebut sail around the club faster than ripples across a bowl full of milk it seems this would be just the place for a gossip feeding frenzy attended by more than just a few. No condemnation meant , after all I am here participating in the frenzy myself. I was simply pondering the numbers.

Why would more people be more true? You think the cart guys have secret information that Home Office is passing to them?

This site is for rumors, and that's what is posted here. I'm guessing you haven't spent much time on the site, because if you had, you'd already know the success rate of the rumors. It's about as accurate as you'd expect it to be, and BTW, I see just as many people post false info about "No layoffs, all is well!" as I do layoffs.

So, it goes both ways. People want a heads up on layoffs, and this site isn't 100% but it's accurate enough.
