Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

SM news?

Anyone heard if they are firing Sms with coachings? I just think they will have to make room for some successful Co managers in all of this.

There is a new document/policy on the wire posted December 15 2017 that addresses "salaried and hourly manager eligibility". My interpretation based on the wording is that is pertains to both eligibility managers currently in role and eligibility to promote to those roles. It addresses positions across all divisions and departments. It states to be eligible for store manager you must have had a "solid performer/on target" on most recent performance evaluations and no 2nd or 3rd level coaching. Therefore if you do not satisfy these requirement you are no longer eligible to be in role. Also you can no longer just step down anymore. Any demotion from a manager position requires a senior level demotion exception approval .... aka not going to happen if you are underperforming. This document "demotion exception" is also on the wire dated December 15 2017.
