As someone that has been layed off after a decade with the same company and worrying everyday about the rumors of layoffs, I can only tell you this. Stop worrying, it is out of your control. I think back to the time I wasted worrying. It consumed me and took away valuable time with my family. In the end, it didn't matter how much I worried. I was layed off. I worried for over 10 years. Live your life, enjoy your family and don't waste anymore of your time on this website. You can't and won't change anything. If there is a layoff coming, why does it matter if you know a few days in advance? (It doesn't.) Enjoy your life and the precious little time we have on this earth. You can't cross a bridge until you arrive.

I really do appreciate your intention, OP, but telling someone not to worry... it never, ever works. People feel what they are feeling and you can't just tell them to stop feeling that way, no more than you can tell someone to stop bleeding. A simple "I've been in a similar situation and I feel your pain" is sufficient and far more comforting. 🙂
Well said...Not in our control!
Easier said than done for us non nurse folks. Jobs are just not out there for the rest of us.
Good one. 🙂
