Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Humana At Home

Humana at Home encompasses more than just one thing. I am concerned that at some point the special needs area will also be affected as Humana has cut deep in other departments, dropped out of Obama Care, dropped many states from it's programs, and today rearranged rosters. AGAIN. I feel management is not transparent, that every dept is at risk as Humana places itself in the best light to be purchased. Making themselves leaner for purchase at the expense of those who they stressto meet metrics day on and day out.

I don’t know how safe any area is, we’ve seen staff go to SNP, and leave SNP, we are interchangeable in our roles, the documentation is different...if they need to cut a certain amount of positions, I don’t think any department Is “safer” than another right now, we can all be realigned and reassigned. All we can do is wait it out....as one poster said, start looking now for other jobs, internally or externally, before there’s a huge amount of people going after the same jobs....we will probably be told about pivoting, restructuring and the incentive programs in the meeting tomorrow, questions won’t or can’t be answered to what we want to know, because they probably don’t have all the specifics yet....if layoffs are going to be 1st quarter, like they said, or in January, like they said last year, it will probably be towards the end of the month....and if live healthy is going, that doesn’t mean all the PHCs may be going, the program may go away, but maybe the PHCs are going to be rearranged somehow....and yes, it’s safe to assume there will be cuts across the board again, but the criteria won’t be disclosed, so, hope for the best, prepare for the worst

I also work as an HCMRN in the SNP area and have followed these threads, but have felt "safe" from layoff. Reading these posts, I feel I have been lulled into a false sense of security and led to believe this to be true by other posts on other threads. I now wonder what the end of the month holds for some of us......

Perhaps they rearranged rosters due to a need like overloaded nurses in one area whereas some people don’t have enough work to keep them busy for the day and constantly have to work off spreadsheets. That’s showing they need you. Stressed to meet 5 calls or what’s your requirement?

It wasn't that I just noticed...... but i have been told that I work in a "safe" area. The SNP AREA. It seems now, that no o f on the at home side of the business is safe. I am fully aware we are all on Rocky ground, my resume is always updated....i was looking for a job when I found this one.....

I would not be surprised if Humana continued with quarterly layoffs for another year until all of HAH is gone. There is no stability in the future for any who remain. They also know this constant fear of being let go raises productivity. Metrics for my teammates increased with each layoff. The required metric stayed the same but everyone wants to top the other

@Rh86dHq Of course you are or will be at risk. That's the new normal at Humana. Keep you on your toes, keep you guessing. I don't want to sound mean but where have you been that you just noticed this. The transparency (lack of), making the company more attractive to a buyer. This has been happening for the last 18 months and I wonder how come you just noticed.
