Been at Academy for over 3 years. When I first started I was at the bottom of the ladder making minimum wage and knew absolutely nothing about retail. Now here I am with all this experience under my belt and I barely had any raises to compensate.
It’s pretty awful when you keep expecting your hard work to pay off and then one day realizing it won’t. And then you notice other coworkers realizing the same. I was told how much of a ‘valuable asset’ I am to the store and that seems to be the only reward I will ever get.
One of these days I’ll tell them exactly where they can put that ”reward.”
