Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Why is there a dress code at sears if it’s not enforced?

Or did they get rid of the dress code?

Black or tan pants- not colored

Black shoes-unless they have a doctors note- don’t think a dr wd give a note to wear brown calf high winter boots

What’s the point anymore anyways?

Especially if the store manager ignores it when told

I should try wearing jeans one day see if they send me home

Kohls is doing Fantastic and if you notice their associates can wear whatever they want

The poster said white casual shoes not white pants. In our Sears store nobody cares what people wear.

P.S. No white pants? Why not... they won't even be white for long in that place. lol

Originally I tried to wear non-sneakers when I first started working for Sears, but my feet hurt so bad I switched to simple all black sneakers that I'd worn up until recently. No one ever cared or noticed. It just isn't the kind of job you can get by without comfortable footwear and not allowing sneakers is absurd. (Do the costumers really care about our footwear? Come on.)

The black pair though had a blow out a bit ago; one to many times catching that area on the z racks, quads, etc. Switched to new pair of dark blue Skechers, bought at my store, and no one gives a damn. (Plus, look, I'm modeling our products! lol) The extra cushion and tread on them is also helpful in this job.

I don’t think the dress code was updated to allow white pants!

The shoe dress code was updated. You just can't wear tennis shoes. We have an associate in our Sears store that wears white casual shoes and it is within the dress code.

I do get to wear jeans. ;) My manger informed us back before the holidays that we were now allowed to wear other colors and whatnot, provided it's appropriate attire for a job, IF (and here's the catch) it's brands that Sears carries.

Although my store had already stopped caring about the shoes a while ago.

If one recalls, the dress code that OP is referring to was part of the great transformation initiated by SHLD back when All-wind Lewis was shrilling the charade. Yep, that black, white and tan look really drove SHLD to retail success and prosperity!

The dress code was updated some time last year. You should go to 88sears and check it out. You can actually wear different colors, styles and shoes with some exceptions.
