@mui @1rae

That’s precisely why the stock rose moderately but still below $70 offer price after the presentation.

The management and board have obviously ran out of credibility and the response is considered weak. You show your hands and wall street finds out you have nothing - nothing that they have not expected. The NXP likely will not happen since GD hinted we’re not goning to do it at all cost.

The $2 premium to $70 at the this point is the premium for the uncertainty of acquisition. The majority of the institutional owner are probably for the acquisition or stock wouldn’t be this high. But nobody knows for sure until everyone show their hands. If it doesn’t happen, it’s heading below.

@1rae If that is the case, then it will not increase the stock price. Heck, the announcement alone should have increased the stock price, and it didn‘t.

SM is basically out of ammo, it seems. And either way, we‘re f*cked. Time for me to become part of the attrition coalition, it seems. Have fun at Q without me, guys.

@mui, i was wondering the same! I suppose this is not an easy fat trim since we just cut a BN in jobs not so long ago. It will probably have to come at t he expense of some essential rnd that will cost is in the long run.

If I were an institutional shareholder, I would wonder why Q is able to have a $1B reduction now to increase the stock price. Why didn‘t the company increase the stock price for me before? First Hock Tan has to come along, and then the board wakes up and realizes that they have $1B in savings potential?

I think that line of thought will actually cause many institutional shareholders to seriously consider getting rid of the board.
