I was reading this article the other day and the gentleman saying how Whoever is in charge and the way they handled the store closures was a PR nightmare announcing a bonus and a couple hours later closing 63 stores and allowing employees to show up at work with doors closed after a lot of employees dedicated their lives to Sam’s clubMade it look like they’re all an afterthought we are going to handle the store closures first then will deal with them. The sad part is it seems to be true offering all the employees 60 day pay it’s not that they want to do it it’s the law they have to do it, I wonder if it was there choice, do any of us really believe they would do it, This tax break they’re getting over years it will add up to billions of dollars and they announce the bonus employees will be getting $1000 if you been here 20 years they didn’t say that majority will be getting a lot less I’ve been here a long time at Sam’s used to be about the employees Now it’s all about the money and how they can get more of it closing stores Laying off employees fighting anyone that gets in there way God bless all of you

Hit the nail on the head. I actually ran into some members who actually had not heard about the 63 club closings. And the wage increase to 11$. Lets figure this up. 40 hrs x 11.00 = 440.00 a week. Now 440$ x 4= 1760. Now subtract federal taxes, social security and oh yea! insurance for you and a spouse...350.00. I believe this will total to around 900.00 a month or 225.00 a week. Hello Poverty! When this first hit the news it was millions in profit until the financial firms came forward and said it would be BILLIONS!. Dont wiz down my boot and tell me its raining.
