Any word on the type of packages being given last week and through the 31st? How many weeks of pay and benefits?
Do years of service account for anything? Example, if one has been with the company for 20 years or more, will they be compensated for the years of service in addition to the standard package given? Or is it a flat package, given to all affected? Thank you.

Just jump ship and tell your tale to others in and out of the industry on the "greatness" of the people in Dell especially the managers who spent their time politicking. Why wait for the package. Just get out.
It depends on local laws an how socialim affected your country in past decades :)
in France you get (1,5month/year) + (3 months "prior notice") + (severance package which is about 0,75month/year). You also have the right to not accept and sue the employer if you judge that it's not enough and that you can get more.
Agreed, not generous at all and definitely not that same as what the legacy EMC folks were getting through the September WFR.
Not generous at all. A 10 year employee would get 2 months plus 10 weeks = 18 weeks. That is lousy for a 10 year employee.
