401k-rap

Out of curiosity is it me or does WFM 401k retirement plan straight up just s---? I contribute a nice percentage of my paycheck to my retirement plan. I’ve only seen an employer contribution of about $200 in the last couple of years I’ve been with the company. Seems like ours competitors offer better retirement plans.

Maybe that person is a union rep or corporate troll.

It is NOT cheaper than other places. Not by a long shot.

Get out of grocery retail and get a real adult job, spouse and I pay 210 per month for Kaiser, dental and eye care, no deductible, so don't think its a vote or up to someone else, it's your life, take charge and control it, the jobs are out there.

It still is better than industry average. Have you held jobs outside of wfm? Try paying $100-$300 per check per person with the same deductible we have.

And the health care. More than a $3k deductible per person and if you add one person or 20, it's more than $6k? Better than the industry average? So if you stay well for two years, you might have decent coverage for one year not including the whole 80/20 thing. And the max out of pocket?! I don't think people who are not allowed or trusted to apply for a leadership position should be entrusted to make decisions about the healthcare of others. The healthcare system in the USA has changed drastically. The votes don't add up to majority rules because most people don't understand the healthcare industry and it keeps changing. Rates and coverage aren't what they were when this voting system was implemented. Is it really too much to ask that everyone pay something? You do at practically EVERY OTHER COMPANY. I don't think just because something happens one person (and should make a gazillion dollars while others go get massages for their stressful day. What a joke! If you think the healthcare is great, wait until you actually have to use it.

It’s not secret. Been that way about a decade. You can even google it or ask upon hiring. An assistant may not know but it’s easy to figure out. Not sure why it was so shocking

Whole Foods doesn't match! Definitely not competitive with any top company! This is my biggest complaint as far as our benefit offerings go. Better off putting your money in a Roth IRA

The employer match for the 401k is a disgrace! It is not competitive in the industry or with just about any employer. It was not disclosed upon my hiring even though I asked about benefits and would have been a deal breaker. WFM must do better! Amazon - please help us!

when i was there i did the max % they would as a company match. and by time i left it was vested and a nice chunk of $ to rollover to another retirement account. their % may have changed..but i recall it being higher than some other places.
