Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Eliminated

Question.. If a person's position is eliminated and they decide to take another position within the club, do they keep their current pay???.. Most associates live pay check to pay check as it is..

I was actually an audit associate that lost their position. You do not lose pay. Your PTC should be aware of this but may not be (mine wasn’t at first). I chose a lower pay grade position and kept my pay. This is explained in detail on the wire. YOU SHOULD NOT LOSE ANY MONEY besides team lead or overnight differential if that applies to you.

You do keep your pay. It has to be done manually by your PTC. They need to contact WMCC Compensation. The compensation team will NOT talk to or email any other hourly associates. It must be a manager or a PTC that contacts them.

Anyone saying otherwise is misinformed.

I am a former audit associate, if your job is eliminated you only lose pay When going to a lower level IF you exceed the cap for the new position. You will be taken to the cap. I went down a level and did NOT lose money because I was not at the cap yet. It is clear in the pay policy.

When you do the job offer it will show a lower pay. PTC will have to reach out to payroll for the fix. If you have previously been moved after a position elimination once this is fixed you will also get back pay.

Someone previously mentioned it on here that this can be found on the Associate Pay Plan on the WIRE on page 39.

If your job is eliminated you will not loose pay unless you make more than the max for your new job. Them you would be taken to the max.

I am also PTC. And YES you lose your pay if it’s not a lateral move. Most likely a 10% pay cut as someone stated earlier.

The post by @Rn3zEgD-tpw is NOT accurate. A 20+ year former Audit Team associate accepted a

full-time position in Clothing. She freely told me that her pay is substantially lower...but she is glad to have a full-time position. As was posted previously, only with a lateral move will you retain your current wage.

Geart. I have been with this company for 26 years and I have worked my butt off to get where I am today..Its so sad that this company that you have dedicated half of your life to and probably have spent more time in your club then with your own family can be so heartless and take peoples livelihood away without a blink of an eye.

You only keep your pay if it is a Lateral switch. Otherwise you go down. Typically A TL will lose 10% of pay. It is a tough decision, step down or take severance. Keep in mind you have 60 days to decide. Also if you choose a new position, that effectively deletes your severance. So you CAN NOT change your mind if you end up not liking your position(happened to a girl at my club last year)

After the changes most associates are the lowest paygrade. Cart guys through floor people etc.
