Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Stupid Failure

Sears is done.

All ASMs will be gone by Feb.

Commission sales are gone.

FWIW, I am a DM.

What makes sense is for commission sales to go away. Make those people hourly so they can be tasked to other duties, cashier, back room, janitorial, ect. That way they don't run afoul of labor laws.

In our Sears store here in California all home improvement sales people are hourly with them making California minimum wage of $11.00 an hour. Also, if your Sears store makes less than $12 million a year you won't have an ASM for ops. It happened in our Sears store and the DM said it will become company policy and staffing.

All are overpaid and useless anyway. Long overdue. Associates work harder than they ever will.

I've heard a rumor that home improvement is going hourly, but not so much with appliances. It would not surprise me at all if that happened.
