MAPM Positions being eliminated withint 6 mos.

Market Asset Protection Managers are being eliminated. APMs will report directly to store managers. Co eliminations happen tomorrow, HO positions eliminated wed, thurs, fri this week. HIGH stress levels throughout the company with the shake up. I am one of those affected and am looking forward to a new journey. Despite what I am offered tomorrow, I am walking away. Too many other possibilities out there. God Bless everyone affected, remember to never look back, look forward and seize the opportunity of change. Doubt those who stay will be as happy as those of us that walk away yet I wish them all the very best!

APM/MAPM/APA None going away.....all just new names and roles........our losses company wide are greater in stores hourly supervisors digital role versus thieves physical roll......not to mention the "sue city" mentality of the world. Robots and A.I. will take care of the theft and DM's that never complete anything on time or accurate. Yes, just Google your company's name and add PATENTS to it and you'll see what's on the horizon before you voice your " it won't work" mindset because automated boots and A.I. (artificial intelligence) software is NEVER inaccurate!

AP answering to the store manager is just because the whining that there is someone in their store that doesn’t answer to them and they couldn’t control and investigates them. AP has to make management do their job when it comes to safety, shrink audits, and more, so management didn’t like how they got held accountable so now the tables are turned. Store management will abuse this and will not see the results that home office thinks they will achieve. They are going to end up with a bunch of thieving managers and the checks and balances will be non existent. I believe absolute power leads to absolute corruption. I know they didn’t test this a year in a complex store first or else they wouldn’t have achieved the same results and this wouldn’t be taking place. Can’t take away MAPMS due to internal investigations and interviews alone not to mention all the other knowledge and specialized training they have that regular managers don’t.

@Rp6pbAp-1ryv...have you ever worked for someone you liked...ever? I have followed managers not because I am a pet or given any special treatment. I follow them because they are great managers, fair but tough, a winning coach so to speak. Managers also know to surround themselves with winning people and hard workers. Sounds like you just 'hate all authority' and are jealous you aren't picked for kickball because you are probably a negative and lazy.

This has been on the Horizon for quite a while. Let's look at the past to now.

  1. MAPM (or DLPS) managed all hourly instore Loss Prevention associates. MAPMs conducted all internal investigations and interviews.

  2. New Positions created Salaried Asset Protection Manager (APM) and Hourly Asset Protection Associate (APA).

a. APM reports to the MAPM, several are trained to conduct internal investigations and interviews.

b. Hourly Asset Protection Associate reports to APM.

  1. APM transitions to the Asset Protection Assistant Manager and reports to the Store Manager. Currently in transition.

  2. MAPM told that this will give them time to focus on opportunity stores, Accidents and Shrink. Really, what have they been focused on? What have they been doing? Shrink has gone up and Accidents have gone up. They could not execute with a staff of associates, now they have none. Store Manager becomes responsible for this impact.

  3. MAPM becomes obsolete NOW!!

Amazing how things progress.

Did I read that correctly? MAPMS are work horses?

There won't be any mass call outs in protest in the store I work at. Everyone will think, "this is Karma in action." People following you from store to store sounds like you play favorites/pets..

I know Mapms never safe and with apms now reporting to sm that is start of it. They keep telling Mapms they are safe but cant believe them. I think its coming for Mapms sooner than later and Rapms too. But they keep market managers who make 6 figures and doing minimal. The mapms are work horses and will get eliminated.

It definitly is a hostile work environment they created for the past few years. But Mr Mcmillion will get his millions in bonus rest assured.

Where did we get the info on the MAPM's? The reporting change for the APMs already happened.

If they offer a position and you say no you will not be offered a severance.

What scares me is the hourlys with any longevity. I am one with about 25 years service. I'm waiting for them to go after us.

You are correct. Those who walk will be much happier than those who stay.

Overnight Co here. I too plan on walking away even if offered a co position. I have never been coached, have always performed so I think I may get an offer yet does not matter. Sad thing is I cannot tell my team this. Many have asked me to keep them posted after my meeting tomorrow. They are planning mass call outs in protest and several who have followed me from store to store are going to resign and find employment elsewhere despite my efforts to keep the troops calm. This is business, hard decisions have to be made in business for the business. Whether we agree or not on how it was handled and carried out doesn't matter. This is just business.
