Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

If this does happen and the rumors are correct, I feel bad for the market managers and the club managers who have to sit people down and tell the ones who are being cut or there are going to be changes that will affect everyone. It’s not easy for them and I’m pretty sure they take no joy in having to do this. It’s never easy letting people go it affects everyone in the building because they are losing a colleague. The ones who are affected have to go home and tell their families they no longer have a job or they have been displaced and have to find another position. That’s a lot of stress and fear of what will happen, how will you provide for your family, how are you going to pay your bills in the next couple of months it takes a toll on you. These Market managers and club managers are just like us they have families to provide for as well and they have a tough job when it comes to these types of situations.

I have been through this before and have been displaced and can tell you the first week is the worst after that you start to feel a little better and feel some hope that you will find something else and I did but I had a large network of contacts that I used. Start gathering contacts that are viable especially outside the company and if you are affected reach out to them and see what they may have available.

So if any of this is true be prepared to have an updated resume ready and start applying to other companies quickly as the job market will be hit hard by others applying.

You don’t have to have coachings for low performance, Calibration discussion rate you Red, Yellow, Green so if you fall into a red not good.

In a club with 6 AM...no coachings on file & 4 are solid performers and two are new hires (one in Oct & one in Dec). Does that mean we keep everyone?!

Additionally, if you have BYOD screenshot all WM/Sam’s contacts that were saved by clicking “save contact info” from an email because once you are displaced all will be removed from device. This may not be very clear, but when I was displaced my WM/Sam’s contacts were removed from my phone thus I had no way to network.

I don’t think the company does this to be malicious or anything, I just think it is how BYOD works.
